Celebrating the best of our community

Tis the season…

The ever popular Silver Sunday calendar concluded with our two annual ‘Silver Bells’ events held in Hartley and Sevenoaks

Guests were treated to a fabulous Christmas buffet and enjoyed festive treats including music, games and lots of dancing! Chairman of the Council, Cllr Laurence Ball was present at the Hartley Village Hall party, with both events well attended and supported by local residents. A big thank you to all who helped contribute, organise and hold these events.

‘Silver Sunday’ is an initiative organised by the Health & Communities team at Sevenoaks District Council in partnership with the Senior Action Forum. The programme will continue to run in 2025 with the schedule due to be released later in the Autumn.

The Sevenoaks Skatepark Open Day 202423/08/2024

King Ramps hosted a fantastic event at Greatness Recreational Ground, following the reopening of the Skatepark in 2023. Together with the support of Sevenoaks Town & District Councils and West Kent Housing Association, residents of all ages were treated to a showcase from pro BMX and skateboarders. Participants enjoyed free coaching and workshops from the professionals, and there was even a live display from Britain’s Got Talent, semi finalists!!

Let’s Cook Together – Sevenoaks District

Let’s Cook Together was funded by Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley Healthcare Partnership as a rural health initiative. The course helped residents prepare cost-effective, nutritious and delicious meals, whilst learning how to budget and reduce food waste. All equipment and ingredients were provided and participants received a free recipe book, spice set and £20 shopping voucher.

Caroline, a participant from Hextable, said ‘This course is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone’.

Karen, a participant from Hextable, said ‘Fantastic course with brilliant tips’.
